When Aquarians Meet

Today the Oprah Show rebroadcast the "Good Hair" segment with Chris Rock. The exchange between Rock, born February 7, and Winfrey, born January 29, is typical of what happens when two Aquarians meet.

Aquarians are known for their cheerful dispositions and are generally prone to having excellent camaraderie between each other. At least many astrologers have proclaimed that this is the case, though many have also noted how "slightly odd" they become around each other.

In my opinion and as displayed in the rebroadcast, more often than not the energy between two Aquarians goes a little haywire, making them both seem crazier than they were already initially perceived to be.

Maybe there is too much electricity, machinery, and baggage when these two planes are in the same vicinity, but two Aquarians meeting seem to bring out the perverse nature in each other. Comments become unfiltered, banter becomes cloistered, and the air is stirred to nervous levels. Like twins pulled apart at birth, we may know what the other is thinking, but we have no idea what the other is capable of doing.

Witness the body language between Rock and Winfrey and you'll get a sense of this nervousness as Winfrey jumps out of her seat several times, points her finger at Rock, and straightens her clothes--all nervous ticks that seem jumpy and out of context with the dialogue taking place but can be easily understood when one guesses that she is working the odd energy Rock encourages in her.

Meanwhile, one can also visibly tell that Rock is nervous and is doing double time trying not to say something off-color, because now he's in the presence of (dunh, dunh, dunh) The Other Aquarian. All hell could break loose.

My personal experience with fellow Aquarians has always been foremost this sense of nervousness. Even when I don't know that they're Aquarians at the time when introduced, I feel an instant sense of urgency to do something (crash, change course, land) when around them. Once past those initial moments of calibrating just how far they'll go, they often become my closest friends, but it doesn't mean that I don't think they're crazy nonetheless.

So, what's been your experience, both good and bad, with other Aquarians?

  1. This segment is on television right now as I am typing this and I was struck by how strange Chris Rock's voice sounds to me- I realize that this is probably the first time that I've heard him not speaking "in-character". But you're right- they look visibly stiff and somewhat ill-at-ease with one another.

  2. Yeah, it's so weird. It's like they're both trying to hold back their some bottled energy. You can visibly see that if they were off-camera, they'd feel a lot freer, but also that they're trying to suss out how far they can go.
